Burgeoning bass-baritones, seasoned sopranos, and glee club “gleeks” will enjoy one-on-one sessions with Wolf Trap’s professional voice instructor, who will work with you to enhance your singing skills. Lessons move at your own pace while providing an understanding of proper voice training and music styles. Wolf Trap provides comfortable, state-of-the-art private practice rooms and a relaxed environment that will help you prepare for karaoke night or your next school audition.

Lessons will be scheduled at the mutual convenience of the instructor and student and will be held on Saturdays, Saturdays, January 26 – April 27.
Classes are not interchangeable.
Participants can only attend their registered class.
Space is very limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
All classes are held at the Center for Education at Wolf Trap Foundation.

Instructor: Sarah B. Markovits
Soprano Sarah B. Markovits is a versatile performer and instructor, comfortable singing and teaching a wide spectrum of musical styles. Ms. Markovits currently serves as the Upper School Choral Director at Sidwell Friends School, Vocal Coach of the Capitol Hill Chorale, Voice Teacher at Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, and Music Director at Encore Stage and Studio in Arlington, VA. She has been a member of the Voice Faculty at the University of Hawaii, Shenandoah University, and Pierce College. Ms. Markovits has also taught courses and lessons at Punahou School in Honolulu and Capitol Hill Arts Workshop in DC. As a performer, her roles have included Blanche in Dialogues des Carmelites, Arminda in La Finta Giardiniera, Laurie in The Tender Land, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, and Grizabella in CATS. Recent solo appearances include Bach’s Mass in B Minor in Honolulu, Capitol Hill Chorale in Washington, DC, and Choral Arts in Seattle. She has also appeared as a soloist with the Tacoma Symphony, the Seattle Men’s Chorus, and the Rose Consort of Viols. Ms. Markovits is a Candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Washington, having studied with soprano and master teacher Jane Eaglen.
