Celebrating its tenth year in 2018, Wine at Wolf Trap is an intimate evening of extraordinary wines and cuisine, including a five-course dinner with perfect wine pairings and a curated tableside tasting experience by expert sommeliers. This exquisite gastronomic experience begins with cocktails and creative hors d’oeuvres, provides a lively silent auction featuring rare wines and unique travel and dining experiences, and concludes with music and dancing. Wine at Wolf Trap is a much-anticipated springtime tradition that sells out each year, with reserved seating for only 150 discerning wine aficionados.
This year’s guests experienced five exquisite courses designed in collaboration with Chef Joe Raffa and the culinary team behind José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup concept America Eats Tavern, each perfectly paired with a hand-curated selection of world class wines presented by Jarad Slipp, Master Sommelier and Estate Director, RdV Vineyards. Prior to joining the RdV team in 2013 he was the Restaurant Director at several notable Washington DC and NYC restaurants, including CityZen, Fiamma, Nectar, and Tahoga. Jarad earned his Master Sommelier Diploma making him one of just 247 individuals worldwide to have passed the rigorous exam.
Live music by local favorite DJ Oz, dancing, and a spirited silent auction rounded out the evening.
Proceeds from Wine at Wolf Trap benefit Wolf Trap’s arts and education programs including its Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts. In addition, the event supports Wolf Trap’s world class year-round programming and Wolf Trap Opera, the premier U.S. training program for emerging artists. With thanks to our sponsors and participants, 2018's Wine at Wolf Trap raised over $160,000 for the Foundation.
